❬ ARRIVAL ❭

Arrival does not happen normally. While the AI known as Aurora would typically handle your incoming- this time it is instead a strange coincidence. And while she would ordinarily contact you, provide you with context and access to the network- she cannot currently reach you. One moment, you are where you were, and now you’re here: in the middle of some kind of Comic-Con looking event. Weirder still: you now have some kind of super power. You will find that your arrival on this Earth may have granted you new capabilities - perhaps someone without abilities is now able to fly, or someone with their own set of extraordinary abilities now has something new to help with.

❬ SUPERFEST ❭

Not to be confused with Hero-Con or Villian-Con. This is a fan-made convention in downtown SF that takes place during a prime Con weekend that boasts that everyone is welcome here. Well, as long as they adhere to Con Rules. Sleep, Eat, Drink Water, Shower, and don’t blast any holes in the walls. They already have enough of those. Despite the recent Kaiju attack with corresponding tsunamis and earthquakes, the Convention Runners are utterly committed. Though it is held and hosted by fans, there’s a nice variety of Artists, Exhibitors, Panels, as well as a live-streamed Cosplay Contest. Artist’s Alley & Dealer’s Hall Are you even a slightly public hero or villain? Find fan art, merch, even fan comics of yourself and your friends- Or enemies. Panels You don’t even need to have anything planned! Seems like there were some cancellations. Slip in and talk about whatever you like. Cosplay Contest Wear your own costume to the contest- Or find a knock off of someone else’s in the Dealer’s Hall. The Water That Makes You Stupid Yes, the convention is staffed and run by fans… But it’s still run by someone, isn’t it? The badge line is long and the weather is sweltering. Grab a SUPERFEST branded water for $12- Or drink from the fountains as soon as you get into the con center. The Convention President is testing a chemical that will make you harmlessly stupider for a handful of hours to loosen wallets and increase overall enjoyment of convention activities.

❬ THE DIVIDE ❭

First earthquakes and tsunamis culminating in wide scale Kaiju attacks, now this. It’s more subtle than any of those things, but reports of people being dragged by some invisible force or teleporting cross town start emerging. And these people all have powers. But none of them are on your corresponding apps, nor in your network. Weird. It would really be best to investigate this matter. After all, it seems the Hero and Villain organizations (League of Heroes and Vale & Venture) want more information, and if possible- to recruit members before the other does.

❬ THE SAN FRAN WALKING TOUR ❭

For the first three days, the boundary that new arrivals can travel seems very stable. It’s centered upon the convention center, shifting no more than a couple of city blocks in any direction. The boundary is completely invisible and totally indestructible. It can only be found by touching it. After those first three days, though, the boundary starts to move, and the newly warped in have no choice but to come along with it, even if they end up dragged through traffic or made to make hasty exits from buildings. Yet should they come truly against something they cannot escape- Like a closed alleyway or a freight train, they will find themselves spontaneously clipping through the force field boundary and projected onto the inside opposite end of the bubble. It must be disorienting to be thrown a few miles from where you just were.

❬ MISSION NOTES ❭

📌 — This Earth heavily resembles current-day Earth. All cities will be what we would find on the map of our Earth - meaning, there is no Gotham, or any fictional cities in play. Players are free to create their own locations within locations! We won't be monitoring this closely, and want to give players free reign to play with the environment around them as they would like. 📌 — TL;DR: A body-hopping interstellar being has come to visit Earth 2’s San Fransisco for the Fan Convention as well as provide a self-guided walking tour. Newcomers to the TDM are stuck inside the several mile radius of his force-field. He doesn’t know it’s happening, but the Force Field is impenetrable for TDMers, and will push and pull them around San Francisco during these two weeks. 📌 — This setting is from our current Off-World Mission. Additional details can be found HERE. 📌 — Characters already in game are welcome to post to the TDM, too! Please mark them as current characters in your header. 📌 — Because of the way newcomers are arriving, players are welcome to treat this as a fourth wall event of sorts! [Serena loves going through crowded places but this is a bit like walking through a pack of rabid hyenas as a cute little wounded antelope. She hasn't felt this overly sexualized since she was modelling as a twelve year old for Gap. Some of that has to be the outfit she's wearing, but she's just sure that it's the fact that she's one of the few women wondering around this particular area.

As it is, she's sort of trying to get away from a group of guys that have been trailing her for a while and looking over her shoulder as she does so. It's not really a very big surprise that she ends up bumping into someone.]

Oof. [And that's why she's about to fall over and she reaches out to grab onto something solid to keep her upright. And it happens to be the person she runs into.] Sorry.

[He notices the group of men and slips his arm around her waist in response, staring them down, the air of a predator about him, despite his appearance. A suit and tie is not intimidating, but how he holds himself is enough to dissuade them. Once they start to scatter, he lets go of the young woman.

Her outfit makes quite a statement, but he instead focuses on her face, knowing better than to stare.]

Not at all. My apologies for that familiarity, I noticed you had attracted a few...admirers.

[Serena's grateful for the assist. It's a move that Nate would have definitely made. And, well, she loves a man of action who isn't afraid to defend and protect.

She almost frowns when he lets go, but then gives him a bright smile when he mentions why she needed a rescue in the first place.]

Imagine my surprise when I was shoved into this outfit. It's not really my taste, but I guess I can see the appeal. Just not the group that it was appealing to. Know I know what a rabbit feels like.

It is flattering, if I may say. I have seen a few dressed the same, but yours appears to have made an impression.

[Elijah has his own costume, but he was quick to change back into his immaculate suit, preferring his alter ego.]

Perhaps you are in need of an escorted, to ensure that you are not bothered again. Might I offer my services?

[He offers his arm to her, less familiar than before, now more proper and gentlemanly.]

Thanks. A little too much for a Wednesday afternoon, in my opinion, but not too far from what I'd wear out clubbing.

[Well, it's not completely to her taste. She'd rather be in leather than pleathee, but that robot looked very insistent. And she saw that movie. It didn't end well for the humans.

She takes his arm readily, showing just how used she is to the more polite gestures. Her gait next to him would match if she was wearing a floor-length gown and diamonds.]

Thank you. I'm Serena van der Woodsen, by the way. Nice to meet you... I guess we missed that part before in the confusion.

You have a great deal of confidence for a young lady. [Which apparently is needed for such a costume. It's admirable. He's always appreciated such women. It's not hard to imagine Rebekah enjoying this con, trying some of the costumes out of amusement.

She's a refreshing companion to have. He can sense an elegance about her, someone who could match his sense of refinement easily. That is enough to hold his interest and draw his curiosity about such a mortal.]

A pleasure. I'm Elijah Mikaelson. [He expects that she won't recognize him. Most mortals wouldn't, unless they are involved I the underworld.] I only recently arrived, so I am grateful for your charming company.

Well, why shouldn't I? I look good. [She knows it. He knows it. The pack of hormone-hopped up hyena knows it. Serena is hot, rich, and fairly smart, with great fashion sense when left to her own ways. Why be shy? She's got flaws, but her looks are top-notch.

Besides, this is nothing. She's worn less with more attitude. One of the benefits of being a native New Yorker since birth is that you get exposed to more and learn how to deal with things a lot faster than other girls her age. Of course, it could also be the fact that the UES set don't live like normal people either.]

I do love being called charming. I'll have to have that added to the list of things that are permissible. But you've just arrived as well? How'd you avoid the strange costumes then?

[He can only smile in reply. A rather flawless answer and one Rebekah would give as well, but it’s better not to tell a woman they remind you of your sister. A rather tactless mistake one can make. He can hardly argue with her logic. The suit flatters her, in a way most women can only wish for.

He lifts a tote bag, one of the door lifts. There’s sharp red fabric wrapped around something clearly leather.]

It was hardly avoided, I only preferred to return to the apparel of my choosing. Standing about in a packed room wearing leather doesn’t suit me. Better to save it for other occasions.

Though if I could, I would much prefer my suit. It looks far better and costs much more.

[Yes, well, a girl doesn't want to be compared to a man's sister. No matter how beautiful and perfect she is. And definitely not Serena. She's already had enough strange comparisons to last a lifetime. She's more than happy to be herself.

She looks at the bag and lets out a soft huff of a laugh.]

That's unfortunate. I think you'd fill out a nice superhero costume. [She looks around with a bit of a scrunch to her nose as she takes in the crowds.] But I think you'd stand out in anything you wore. You're not exactly the target audience for a place like this.

No offense meant.

None taken. It's a fact that this isn't a full interest of mine, but it is admirable how deeply they've thrown themselves into this. They have a passion. Better this than vampires.

[If only to keep them safe. The dark world is an insatiable beast. Any vampire that saw this, they'd have an orgy worthy of Marcel's. Blood would be sucked down like red wine. Not all had the restraint that he does.

Much like her, he does appreciate a compliment, especially regarding something that might normally be rather humiliating. A pretty girl being kind is enough to soothe any wound.]

I'm sure you will see it, eventually.

I suppose that's one way to look at things. They do seem to really be into this. That's pretty admirable.

[At the mention of vampires, she looks directly up at his face, hers a mixture of disbelief and confusion.]

Vampires? But they're supposed to be sexy and dangerous. Bad boys that can kill you if they want or turn you into their eternal brides.
