Yeah, that's a good point, [ Riz agrees, nodding vigorously as he walks over to the door separating them from the torrential downpour outside, pressing his palm flat against the glass as he peers out. ] I didn't get a great look while we were running here, but from what I could tell, everything looks brand new, and there's no obvious signs of any sort of disaster or mass evacuation. Of course, everyone could have been magicked away...

[ As a Private Investigator in Spyre, accounting for magic is just part of the package. It's always a new and intriguing way to look at the clues, to come to conclusions, to pick apart a problem in a new way. Still, sometimes he really resents the fact that any amount of investigating can occasionally be waved away with, a wizard did it. ]

Anyway, it feels like it was set up for us. If Gorgug were here, I'd wanna see if he could maybe take apart one of those robot dudes and figure something out from there. It's the closest we've gotten to any sign of life so far.

[ He falls back into an old habit, ripping out pages of his notebook and sticking them up directly on the wall of the shop, undoubtedly committing minor amounts of property damage. Each page is a different location and notes on what they may be able to glean there, and smaller notations of wild extrapolations and theorizing, all in a nigh illegible scrawl. ]

The apartments seemed least promising to me at first, but if we want to figure out the answer to your question, we could go through them and see if we can find any signs of people who used to live there.

[ He hums approvingly at the wall. It looks like it's covered in the ramblings of a madman, which is to say, it looks just like home. If they're here for long enough, he'll have to find some sort of home base to keep all of this up in (he's not going to keep it here, less out of respect for others and more because he doesn't want anyone to know exactly what they're thinking).

But if there's anyone he'd want to be stuck here with, he thinks, it's probably Adaine. The two of them can tackle crime scenes like pros and she has a distinct talent of being able to poke holes in every argument, which is a distinctly useful trait in the field of mystery solving. ]
