He sets them out with efficiency, and then washes his hands in the sink. He wasn't exaggerating about knowing his way around the basics of wound care.

Despite the context, he doesn't really want to do anything that'd hurt her. It's easier, somehow, to treat it like a procedure, or an experiment. Better to go first.

He dries his hands and daubs disinfectant onto a cotton ball, then circles out a clean patch on the back of his left forearm. When it's done, he holds it out towards her, his gaze steady. ]
