If it helps you feel better, I think it's more of a gimmick for this whole casino. From what I understand, this is a "mission" place, not our home base.

It's definitely creepy though. Making people into trading cards, and having us trade with each other? Did you ask why we were supposed to? Because I did, and the answer seems pretty silly to me.
