( although inara didn't consider herself to be vain or terribly self-indulgent, when the opportunity to bask in luxuries similar to those she was used to back home came up, she was more than eager to see what it was about. being one of the few to actually be able to meet the dress code at the beehive, she wandered in wearing a peach colored silk dress, her long wavy hair tightly coiled up into an elegant bun and posh heels on her feet. she didn't have much clothes in this world, but thankfully she had arrived in one of her more fancier sets and had found a few other luxurious items during the gift search from before.

once inside she made her way through, taking in everything she could, eyes wandering. it seemed other people were distracted by the gaudy luxuries because a few of the guests had bumped into things. she couldn't help but look, becoming distracted until a voice called out.

it was then that she stopped in her tracks and looked down, seeing a small woman under the tip of her shoe. )

Why hello there little lady, it isn't safe for you to be there.

( with all of her effortless charm and grace, inara moved her feet out of the way and bent down at the waist to hold her hands out to the small girl before her. she felt a wave of guilt over not spotting this person before; after all she was a very observant woman and was always looking at everything and everyone. how could she have missed her? the guilt of accidentally stepping on her and hurting her though would be far worse.

so if arrietty took her up on her offer to be lifted up, inara would do so very carefully, delicately even. her palm was held open for her, her other hand behind her almost as if to shelter her. )
