Fabian's huffiness is cute, but his dance is... wow. Actually worth the buildup.

It's obvious he's forgotten why he was originally proposing to perform, but in fairness Rose effectively scuppered their plans by following the siren song of "teasing huffy boys." Maybe it's just as well, because to her surprise she kind of wants to be present for this performance. Fabian is doing something with ease that Rose can only do with tremendous effort, which is: being present in the moment without overthinking things. (Except sparkles, ironically. She can quite effectively and comfortably categorize those as Magical and move on with her life.) Plus, a reprieve from her fatigue is quite welcome.

"That's true," Rose agrees with his frank assessment, "but I'll take a demonstration of magic as my consolation prize. I'm a fan of magic in general, but my friend-group over the past few years has fed my overly-cerebral tendencies; it's nice to be reminded sometimes that a single artful movement can be worth many thousands of words."

See what she means? Overly-cerebral. Time to start over.
