Loki runs a hand over his tired eyes. He really doesn’t know what to think right now. He’s been of two minds for a while now. As much as he knows the sacrifice he’s made is necessary in keeping everything going, no matter what the higher ups of this place want him to believe, he misses living. He misses his friends, he wants to see where things go with a certain someone he’s met here, he wants to see Thor again. Could it be that all of that is still possible?

Still… “I’m not sure how you could know that. Not for certain anyway. I do not involve myself with any of the timelines. My job is to simply allow you to continue to do the things you do. And seeing as you are still doing them, I have to imagine I am at least somewhat successful.”

He still believes that, but part of him, the old selfish part of him, really wants to believe. Wants to know that maybe one day, he could be free again.
