Clef glanced up at the tall woman before him with weary and guarded eyes, his white knuckled grip on the imposing staff clearly visible while his childlike body leaned against it for support. The very short mage looked worse for wear, but was nowhere near defenseless despite the contrary. He won’t hesitate to attack if this stranger posed a threat to himself or any other innocents inside the tunnel. Rather than risk possible escalation to confirm his suspicions, he took the preferred approach.
