John doesn't disagree with Will at all. And given that Fabian said there was a rumor people in other cities were having to fight each other, he thinks Will is spot on. He's not going to lie to Will and claim he's wrong, but he needs to phrase this in such a way where they're not enemies day one. From what John can tell, that won't actually benefit either of them.

"You might be right, but I think you're more right about it being a long game. Aurora mentioned one of the prizes for winning the race would be to help pick the theme for the next mission, so there's another one lined up already. I don't think we're in danger of this turning into an all out war just yet."

John's plan is to make allies now and betray them later, though he's not about to offer that piece of information up.
